Another try with a new format. Hope this works for you. The locations seem to have shifted slightly... lets say they're approximate, shall we? Have fun!

I'm always impressed by your creativity and technical skills, chewypoo, what a fun quiz! But on IE7, there seems to be an ongoing bug which means that large (wide) photos aren't displayed properly - everything east of Thailand has disappeared! I'll give this quiz a go later on Firefox.

Hmmm... I tested on IE8, Firefox and (ahem) Chrome, all was well. Didn't mean to cut off the world! I should fire my beta tester (wait, that's me). Thanks for the feedback!

This is a really clever idea, but it's not working all that well for me. I spent way too much time tracing my mouse right over the spot where I knew a place to be, only to have the clue come up for a split second, disappear, and never come back. I had this problem with Lisbon, Havana, and Ulaanbataar before I got frustrated and quit.

@Linux: Thanks! I've increased the size of the hotspots (but decreased the time a bit). Keep the feedback coming!

Judging by the amount of people that got them all, perhaps cut back the time?

I was so happy to find all the bonuses! And then so sad it wouldn't accept anything for #9. :(

Doesn't work correctly here on IE8. Everything is cut off east of Vietnam is cut off.

Amazing idea! I actually liked that the exact spots were hard to find, as most of the capitals were fairly common. Loved the bonus answers, although #6 scared the heck out of me, when it first popped out!

Neat! It takes some waving around with the mouse to find some of them. And I only got 3 bonuses...

You could add tons of false answers to make it impractical to browse the answers through by pressing tab key.

Nice concept, but like most new things there's always bugs. You can scroll trough all the answers (and bonuses) by pressing your Tab-button. Not trying to cheat a great quiz here though, just wanting to help!

Awesome quiz, as ever! I never did find Bishkek, but was able to guess that one :-) Was only momentarily confused on bonus 2/10 when it didn't accept Eyjafjallajökull…

I love the idea of this, but I had a number of technical glitches which I checked on two different computers - mostly stated above, but also that the clue for Tokyo got stuck open so I couldn't read the clue that is for the city near that, as the Tokyo solution was open in front of it. Otherwise, great idea!

Like others - so appreciated the idea/effort - but I couldn't get about half of the clues to come up - or else something would pop up for a split second, but I couldn't get it to return. The other problem I had was that I kept having to move the map up/down or left/right + move my screen - but this may be because I'm on a laptop. Great idea though!

1 (Boat), 2 (Volcano), 3 (Camel), 4 (Penguin), 5 (Bear), 6 (Gollum), 7 (Mickey Mouse), 8 (Llama), 9 (Shark).... and 11 (Peter Griffin) in the very top-right hand corner. I know #10 is in the UK, but I feel quite stupid in not knowing who that is. Can someone please reveal the answer to me? Am I missing some vital piece of cultural knowledge here?

Awesome quiz. Ulaanbaatar too far east, Brasilia too far north, Abuja too far north but nothing way out of place so kudos for a great quiz!
