Fun quiz. Am I the only one who thought the correct answer for Row 3 Column 3 was "One Tree Hill"

Jun 15th, 2011 at 19:59 GMT
Thank you, Chewy. Thank you for giving me a new quiz to make an Editor's Pick. It feels like it's been forever. And, as always, spectacular job.
Jun 15th, 2011 at 23:29 GMT
Hey, thanks for the pick! I can't take all the credit for this... I mostly did the leg work on this one. Thanks to those who helped out. I almost have enough material for another one, although it may be a little more obscure. Cheers!
Jun 16th, 2011 at 16:08 GMT
surprised only 23% have gotten snl right, actually
Jun 17th, 2011 at 13:45 GMT
I'm more astonished at the second row, third column. It would appear that 25% of people are not from this planet. That one was a gimme!

For God's sake, open your eyes, Darrin! You're gonna miss!
Jun 20th, 2011 at 04:30 GMT
I guessed every NBC talk show from New York I could think of. Never thought to guess sketch comedy.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 04:32 GMT
Weeds is awesome.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 06:03 GMT
Props on using SNL. That was the first one I got! I can't believe I missed Frasier. I am ashamed. :(
Jun 20th, 2011 at 10:13 GMT
Never expected to see Coronation Street in here. I didn't know anybody outside of the UK had ever heard of it!
Jun 20th, 2011 at 11:32 GMT
Ha. Love the gratuitous Corrie as a sop to all the anti-Amerocentrists. :-p
Jun 20th, 2011 at 12:17 GMT
I was SO happy to see Coronation Street on here! Corrie seems to be shunned for the most part on Sporcle, so this inclusion was awesome. (Also, Melrose Place-two of my guilty pleasures)
Jun 20th, 2011 at 12:18 GMT
SNL is the really the only show on here where the opening sequence wildly changes from season to season. Good to know you used the most current.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 13:06 GMT
I have also done an 80's Primetime TV version:
Warning: It may bring back some nostalgic memories and/or terrible Steve Urkel catchphrases
Jun 20th, 2011 at 13:08 GMT
Thanks for including Six Feet Under, one of the best opening credits ever in my opinion. :)
Jun 20th, 2011 at 13:34 GMT
I could have sworn that "Survivor" was really "MILF Island."
Jun 20th, 2011 at 13:56 GMT
How did I miss SNL? I haven't missed an episode in twenty years or more, and yet apparently I'm not paying much attention during the opening credits.

wow that third row crushed me. 0 for 4.

A few too many premium-cable shows.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 15:34 GMT
could have sworn that twin peaks was 'goosebumps'
Jun 20th, 2011 at 15:57 GMT
Ha! I thought of 30 Rock first and then finally SNL popped in my head. And I got Twin Peaks, but at first I thought it was Are You Afraid of the Dark?.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 16:19 GMT
Too many people are missing Dexter. That's one of the most awesome opening sequences ever.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 16:22 GMT
I didn't know that JJ Abrams was behind "Felicity." Guessed at "Twin Peaks" based solely on David Lynch's name being there. "Kotter" was a more educated guess thanks to Gabe Kaplan's name. Don't have either Showtime or HBO now so totally didn't know "True Bllod" or "Dexter"
Jun 20th, 2011 at 17:37 GMT
It's a unique kind of quiz that includes both Corrie and Welcome Back Kotter...
Jun 20th, 2011 at 19:02 GMT
True Blood looks like a thumbnail from YouPorn......not that I would know......
Jun 20th, 2011 at 20:14 GMT
Yes! Corrie getting some recognition! Great quiz.
Jun 20th, 2011 at 22:58 GMT
I guess I'm too literal. For the Six Feet Under picture I guessed One Tree Hill
Jun 20th, 2011 at 23:25 GMT
@maaxwell Coronation Street show on CBC Toronto
Jun 21st, 2011 at 01:17 GMT

Okay, I gotta admit. I had to use my remaning minute to look up Coronation Street. What the heck is that? A totally obscure (to a U.S. audience) monkey wrench in the middle of well-known shows. And goodness knows whose subconscious I was channeling when I got Six Feet Under. I've never seen an episode, but somehow recognized the screenshot.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 02:39 GMT
Coronation Street IS indeed known in North America. It's been playing in Canada for years.
Jun 21st, 2011 at 02:48 GMT
damn I thought it was East Enders. 17/24
Jun 21st, 2011 at 04:39 GMT
Hmm, I only get basic cable. Lets see how many HBO & Showtime series I can name... More effective than I had expected!
Jun 21st, 2011 at 07:24 GMT
Evac, Coronation Street is now the world's longest-running soap and one of the most popular programmes in the UK. I got it straight away but have no idea what SNL looks like (totally obscure to a non-US audience, I expect)
Jun 22nd, 2011 at 16:34 GMT
Great quiz, very cool way of testing both knowledge and ability to analyze information.
Jun 25th, 2011 at 16:07 GMT
I've never seen Six feet under. So I took a shot and said "Little House on the prairie" - hahaha.
Feb 17th, 2012 at 20:26 GMT
I thought 'Six Feet Under' was 'Who Do You Think You Are?'.
Feb 22nd, 2012 at 18:08 GMT
what is coronation street...bbc?
