| Great idea! I love all three. I just re-watched the "Birth" sketch, trying to console myself after "The Machine That Goes 'Bing'" was ruled incorrect. I'll gladly concede that the script probably says "Ping" but I'll be darned if it doesn't sound more like "Bing" the first three times it's uttered. The last time, as Graham Chapman's character asks to have it amplified, it is definitely more "ping." Since there's little audible difference between voiced and unvoiced bilabial plosives when one is speaking loudly for comedic effect, perhaps "The Machine That Goes 'Bing'" would make an acceptable alternate answer. |
