	I think the answer for Iran's annual oil production might be wrong - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Iran#Energy.2C_gas.2C_petroleum_and_petrochemicals Looks like it should be billion, not trillion.

	@dlauthor: I'm sorry, but I don't see how that's relevant. The quiz is clearly in English, and in the English language a billion means 10^12. For as far as I can see, it's just a question of language, and when translating you need to convert this. Because of different scales used in different languages (not so much different countries, it is very much language based) when translating to English one needs to adapt to the English method.

	Actually, there aren't EXACTLY 1 billion bytes in a gigabyte. There are 1024 bytes in 1 kilobyte, 1024 kilobytes in 1 megabyte, and 1024 megabytes in 1 gigabyte. So 1 gigabyte = 1024^3 bytes = 1.073 billion bytes. I should add that sometimes you see the 1 GB = 1 billion bytes convention, but that is always in reference to the size of a hard drive. Hard drive manufacturers do this because it artificially inflates the size of the drive, thus selling more hard drives.

	OK, numbers are approximations, but if there are roughly 5,000,000 red blood cells/mm³ and the human body has 5 liters = 5,000 cm³ = 5,000,000 mm³ of blood, the total number of red cells in the body would be about 25 trillion, not 5 trillion. (This has no practical importance for the quiz, however).

	Everytime the news here are talking about the amount of the US-American debt, I am always shocked and think that they are mistranslating it when they talk about "Trillionen" (german word) US-Dollars, while the english "trillion" is surely much less :D.

	To those debating whether a billion is 1x10^9 or 1x10^12, if you refer to the notes, you will see the author has specifically described what a billion and a trillion are for the purposes of this quiz. It's an important distinction because... If you look to any good reference source, you will find that the definition of 1 billion is not universal, it differs in the US vs in the UK. So specifically for @ Tobs, it's NOT a question of language, unless you wish to take the snobbish stand that the US doesn't adhere to 'proper' English, and specifically for @MrMN, the percentage of people getting that specific item right is not about schooling, but more a measure of the ratio of folks from the US vs. those from the UK who have taken the quiz (although even this claim ignores those careful quiz takers who READ THE DETAILS). Don't blame the quiz maker. Chewy - Good Quiz!

	Being from a country where 1 billion = 10^12, 1 trillion = 10^18, etc., I find this system more logical. To multiply large numbers you operate like with logarithms, e.g. 1 million * 1 million = 1 billion (because 1+1=2), 1 billion * 1 trillion = 1 quintillion (because 2+3=5), etc. In the U.S. system you can't apply this logic (1 million * 1 million = 1 trillion, because...). I'm sure I won't convince any American, but probably some European (British or continental) will agree with me.

	i got exactly half -- not too bad, considering pure guessing i would have gotten 1/3... my only gripe (and its a picky one) is the last question, i started typing 1,000,000 in the answer bar just so i could see it to figure out the math, but as soon as i typed the 1 it took as a wrong answer... could you possibly make it so only a M,B, or T can trigger it??

	@ JLKeip: If I am to beleive the sources that wikipedia uses (mainly oxford dictionary) this difference does no longer exist. In 1974 the Uk has switched to the American short scale system. Reading wikipedia, I agree not always the best source but I currently don't have any better, I can't find other examples where there is a difference within languages. I am not at all adhering a view that the US would not be speaking 'proper' English (nor the opposite, for that matter). As wikipedia states, some usage of the long scale system can still be found in the UK but this is rare. As wikipedia states "Usage of the two systems can be a subject of controversy." I think with the discussion here we've shown that to some extent... ;) By the way: I saw a fault in my last comment: where I said 10^12, I really meant 10^9. Sorry!

	Wow I choked. I got to the second column, acting all smug because I almost had as many correct answers as the best score of my 'friends' and was surely going to beat it. And then... I crumbled, getting seven wrong in a row. Seven! And I didn't beat their score. 	The use of "billion" to mean 10^12 in the UK is almost completely obsolete - "billion" for 10^9 and "trillion" for 10^12 are now international standard (at least in the English-speaking world) ... which is quite useful, otherwise British people would look at the $500bn figure for Greek debt and think it's even worse than it is. @Sheldon: if you were like the Australian cricket team, you'd have scored more points on the last question than on all the rest put together.
