| I understand your point markyb, but we shouldn't equate Islam with death to non-believers. Extremist Muslims are an extreme minority, and represent less than 1% of all Muslims. Also, throughout history, more people were killed in the name of Jesus than any other religious figure. I'm assuming your comment is against the Muslim extremists, and was not meant to encapsulate Islam as a violent faith. Also, Lao Zi and Confucius (perhaps considered god-like to some) are not truly religious figures. Confucianism and Daoism/Taoism are essentially philosophies/belief systems, although evidence exists that likens Daoism/Taoism to religion. As for Buddhism, Siddartha Gautama was a human, and had a philosophy that became deified over the years. But I suppose the same could be said about Jesus to any non-Christian. What is and what is not "religion" is such an argumentative issue though. But in my opinion, Daoism/Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism are philosophies, not religions. Great drawings by the way. |
