	I've only heard it from children, who I guess have just associated FYI with the information that you're being reminded of. Or something. Another strange and equally headthroughasolidsurfaceable (but non-acronym) thing I've heard is 'Raise the window down.' Oh my.

	I've maybe heard of an EAP once (guess my age), and I've never heard of an ETLA, but it was a fun one to do by elimination. I knew SCUBA, BASIC, and SWAT quite quickly. I wonder what people thought BASIC was. This quiz seemed to remind a lot of you of RAS Syndrome (Redundant Acronym Syndrome Syndrome). Before condemning such redundancies, remember how much of our language is technically redundant. If one were to randomly eliminate 30% of the characters of a book, it could still be understood by native English speakers. Nearly all languages (apart from maybe text speak) have a fair amount of redundancy. It is, in fact, this redundancy which allows compression algorithms to reduce the size of large text files.
