Hmmm... don't know how I missed that one. I'll have to create a follow-up quiz "Animal Facts (and fiction)". Thanks for playing!

Feb 9th, 2010 at 00:08 GMT
Nice idea, but the selection seems really arbitrary! Maybe try to make it more of a "top ten" style, or something?
Feb 9th, 2010 at 01:37 GMT
this was just a nice, fun, interesting quiz. maybe include statistics to make it more interesting

So the answers for the heaviest animals aren't the actual heaviest animals?
Feb 10th, 2010 at 12:24 GMT
From all accounts those are the heaviest... unless you know of another and I'll check it out. Thanks for playing!

You spelled Asian Gaur wrong. Also, you should accept bonobo (it was the first thing I tried). Other than that, excellent quiz!

I think you need to be a bit more careful with species vs. types of animals. For example, those are all the types of marine mammals, because they're generalized (not sure if this is family or genus in classification terms). I find it confusing that you have, in the same list, sturgeon and bowhead whale. A type of fish with many species, and a specific species of whale. Do you mean that all sturgeons pretty much tie for the place in that list? Specify where you mean a type of animals as opposed to a species. Also, in the heaviest animals list, by "Blue whale", do you mean virtually ALL whales? Because I'm pretty sure they're all heavier than the moosen...
Feb 11th, 2010 at 13:01 GMT
True... I was trying to keep it simpler. I guess I won't get published in National Geographic now! Point taken about the whales, thanks. I do keep it simple (so you type "whale" and get the answer for all the whales. Thanks for playing!
Feb 12th, 2010 at 02:04 GMT
Yeah, you'd pretty much have the top ten full of different species of whales (blue, fin, sei, bowhead, gray, humpback, sperm, right, Bryde's, minke, a couple of beaked whales) before you even got to the whale shark. Maybe just heaviest land mammals?

Fun quiz... but surely the first hibernating animal anyone thinks of is the dormouse?! It's even named after its favourite activity!

Nice quiz, would have thought a gorilla was taller than a lion but I have no idea? I also love the fact that one of the tags on this quiz is 'gnu' for all those sporclers looking for gnu-related quizzes!

Pretty fun quiz. I would add Ocean Sunfish to heaviest as they weigh in at about 1000 kg each which should eclipse Kodiak Bear and maybe a couple others. :)

You're kidding me! Chickens aren't homosexual? XD Great quiz :)
