This could really use to be more generous - to accept the real names, and simply "Posh," "Scary," etc.

Sorry about that, this is my first submitted quiz, and seemed rather rushed. If there is anyway i can go back and amend this, please let me know :)

A good way to present the answers would be: Emma 'Baby' Bunton, Melanie 'Scary' Brown etc. To do this, you have to enter the data as follows: (For example) Emma 'Baby' Bunton/Emma Bunton/Bunton/Baby or Melanie 'Scary' Brown/Melanie Brown/Melanie B/Mel B/Brown/Scary. This will allow all answers to be accepted.

I can't seem to go back and edit this. I hope Sporcle fixes it if it gets published.

Actually, the band name is "Spice Girls", not "The Spice Girls". Minor, I agree, but no one refers to "The Radiohead" or "The Oasis".

@rockgolf: you're right, nobody talks about the Radiohead. But everybody refers to this band as the Spice Girls.

Wow. I thought I would know nothing about this, but then the nicknames just snapped from somewhere.

It's fine to add 'the' on the beginning of a name that's plural, which Radiohead and Oasis are not.

Not having to answer in order seems pointless.

Too easy. Got them all in about 6 seconds.

Twenty years later and most of us still remember them. Maybe they were really good after all.

How is Ginger the least guessed? She's the only one who actually IS a spice, so she is the most memorable (to me). I forgot Baby and Scary since they have nothing to do with spices (and are the least famous IRL too.)

Remembered the end of "Lady is a Vamp" and typed them in that order =)

Ginger is the least guessed because she was "Sexy Spice" for quite a while and got bowdlerized to "Ginger Spice" only after the group had made its big splash.

Always thought they could have lasted a bit longer by adding an exciting new member to the team. How much more relevant could they have been with the additions of Garlic Spice or Nutmeg Spice for example?

@livi_in_sin...Ginger WAS originally Sexy Spice. But I don't think it was a case of bowdlerizing her name. I think it was either jealousy as in "why does she get to be called Sexy Spice? I'm sexier than her" or else just common sense made them realize that calling one particular one Sexy Spice implied that the others weren't.

For once, I do not feel guilty over missing some, but rather I feel guilty for getting some right!

Originally they didn't give themselves the nicknames. A British magazine did. When the girls decided to adopt those names Halliwell didn't like the name Sexy and chose Ginger as an alternative.

and whilst Baby is even less of a baby now, she's still Gorgeous Spice

Surely Geri Halliwell's answer box should be coloured orange...

Let's keep those standards low, thanks. |
