It's Bikini Bottom, not Bottoms.
Apr 15th, 2012 at 18:02 GMT
Great idea for a game. :)
Apr 15th, 2012 at 21:28 GMT
This is one of those games I like regardless of how well I do. I need to spend more time in front of the tv.

Five orbs for including Chuck and Pokemon in the same quiz. I love the variety of the places.
Apr 18th, 2012 at 01:21 GMT
Great quiz! Very fun!
Apr 19th, 2012 at 05:12 GMT
I believe it's the "Mushroom Kingdom," not "Super Mario World."
Apr 19th, 2012 at 05:45 GMT
you are right! That fits much better in the quiz too, thanks :)
Apr 20th, 2012 at 01:40 GMT
great idea, but really hard

Celebrian seems needlessly obscure; she's long since left Middle Earth at the time the Lord of the Rings is set and is only mentioned in passing (I'm not even sure her name appears except in the appendixes). Elrond or Bilbo would be better choices -- or Glorfindel if you want to be a bit tougher.
Actually, I think the Shire would be a better choice for a Lord of the Rings location. There are many more place names possible there -- e.g. Bagshot Row, the Three-Farthing Stone, the Party Tree, Tookland, etc.
All that being said, great idea for a quiz and good use of this format.

The Hogwarts clue should include the Mirror of Erised, not "Esired".
Apr 20th, 2012 at 23:28 GMT
thanks david, I changed rivendell to the shire
@racefan, I never could spell desire... :)

When I saw the clue for "The Woods" come up, I absolutely could not believe it. This quiz is nothing if not eclectic. Great job!

I went to a doctor, but all he did was take blood from my neck. Never see Dr. Acula!
Aug 14th, 2012 at 05:29 GMT
Did you know, Cheers actually is a real bar in Boston? The hints given in the clue are fictional, but the bar itself isn't fictional, just a fun fact.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 05:46 GMT
You had the Woods. Five globes for that alone.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 06:15 GMT
I was so stuck on Halloween Town being of the Disney Channel Original Movie variety that I completely missed that one... How embarrassing.

Greens, greens and nothing but greens: Parsley, peppers, cabbages and celery, Asparagus and watercress and Fiddleferns and lettuce-! He said, "All right," But it wasn't, quite, 'Cause I caught him in the autumn In my garden one night! He was robbing me, Raping me, Rooting through my rutabaga, Raiding my arugula and Ripping up my rampion (My champion! My favorite!)- I should have laid a spell on him Right there, Could have changed him into stone Or a dog or a chair... But I let him have the rampion- I'd lots to spare. In return, however, I said, "Fair is fair: You can let me have the baby That your wife will bear. And we'll call it square."

I absolutely loved this quiz. Props for including many obscure and new locations (i.e. Storybrooke, The Woods, Avenue Q) and double props to me for knowing them all! :D

When I saw "The Island" as one of the answers, I had my fingers crossed that it would be the island I was thinking of and a fitting clue would come up for it... and sure enough it was!
Aug 14th, 2012 at 10:52 GMT
I had never heard of about half of these places. So at the end of the quiz I clicked on the links to see what they were. Unfortunately, many of the links take you to the general Wikipedia page for that term or are broken. Is there some way you can fix that for those of us who are culturally illiterate? Thanks!

OH! WIZARD OF OZ! Not Oz the TV show. *facepalm*
Aug 14th, 2012 at 11:43 GMT
bomb for me-- plowed through 16 and felt smart, but then was just guessing the rest (never heard of any of the others). Ouch
Aug 14th, 2012 at 11:47 GMT
When I saw The Lost Boys, I knew the answer, but all I could think of was, "One thing about livin' in Santa Carla I never could stomach: all the damn vampires."
Aug 14th, 2012 at 12:54 GMT
Oh, I heart you for putting in The Woods. X-mansion and the Island were great too.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 13:09 GMT
Never heard of "The Woods" referenced in this quiz. Got all of the others except for that and Avenue Q.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 13:59 GMT
I was really hoping New New York would have been "Cat nurses, Cassandra, the Face of Boe" but alas it was not.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 14:07 GMT
@plokool, that's because that is New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York. ;)
@emh, I can't fix any links at this point but I can give a short explanation of the least guessed:
The Woods - Setting of the Broadway show
Into The Woods
Buy More - Very important to the plot in the TV show
Pallet Town - Ash's hometown in
Avenue Q - 2003 Broadway show (famously beat
for the Tony for Best Musical)
Storybrooke - Setting of the new TV show
Once Upon A Time

This quiz has Spongebob, Batman, Harry Potter, and The Nightmare Before Christmas all in one. Awesome. :)
Aug 14th, 2012 at 14:47 GMT
@ManFromNowhere: It's from the musical 'Into the Woods.'
Aug 14th, 2012 at 16:29 GMT
You get awesome points just for using Nightwing.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 18:21 GMT
Wait, wait, wait...Scrubs, Avenue Q, Into the Woods and Chuck? If anybody ever asks me how much awesome can be in one quiz, I will say this much awesome can be in one quiz!
Aug 14th, 2012 at 18:30 GMT
great quiz, but Sacred Heart Hospital is a real place.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 18:47 GMT
I just went on vacation to Rhode Island and was sad to find there was no Quahog. However, where it should have been, I saw a nuclear plant. So there's probably gonna be a cross-cartoon lawsuit.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 19:54 GMT
If I may nerd it up for a second, technically Pallet Town doesn't have tall grass. Nearest grass is Route 1.
Aug 14th, 2012 at 20:34 GMT
You had StoryBrooke! Yay!
Aug 15th, 2012 at 00:07 GMT
I was way too excited when I realized that those objects that sounded so familiar were from Into the Woods. I never expected to see it in a quiz. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it, especially if you like musicals.
