I don't hate Rockgolf, I actually think he makes quite good quizzes, and makes funny comments now and again. He seems quite a nice guy. But as you said, I just don't like him getting rewarded and recognized for everything he does, and the rest of us getting no recognition. And I know its not just Rockgolf, there are others as well. It's not rockgolf I'm angry about, Its the admins who treat him (and some others) better than the rest of us. In fact, some users, ie davidr, don't even have to contribute, they just e-mail quizzes to admins and immediately have them published, which the rest of us are told expilcitly, not to do.
As for getting quizzes published, it is much better than having contributed. Hardly anyone sees or plays your work, when its hidden amongst thousands of others in the user contributed page. It will only ever get seen on the "random games box" about once a month. And if no ones playing and commenting on your quizzes, there's no fun making them. The day my quiz was published, and I came home to find my quiz today's most popular game, it was probably the most fun I've ever had on sporcle. Me and others should be given more of a chance. Surely you must agree with that? And with this "hater" business. I don't endlessly whine, I'm just giving my point of view. Its not like I go to bed every night crying over it, I harly care at all. Its just I'd like more of a chance. I do not hate it when any other person wins and I lose. I'm usually quite accepting. I wouldn't be annoyed at all this if my quizzes were just not good enough to make the front page. The problem is, they are. Other users are given an advantage, which just isn't fair on me, or fair on you even. I don't know why you are so happy with this system and activly encourage it. Have you played every user contributed game from every contributer? How do you know there isn't some one out there making the best quizzes known to mankind, who has never had one published, because he just isn't Rockgolf? |
