| Racial stereotypes are almost always a touchy subject so I'll just counter by saying that because white players are such a small minority of the NBA, they're often forced to carve out a niche role around one specialized skill - rebounding, defense, passing, shooting. Guys who make their money by being good shooters work on their shot obsessively, whereas many black players who are good shooters - Ray Allen, Ben Gordon, Kevin Durant = also have other skills and don't have to become so committed to honing and refining their shooting. |
