Technically, Minnesota Fats was originally a fictional character. Wanderone was originally known as New York Fats, but changed his nickname to match the character.

@rufusbear I don't see your point, considering only one of those guys is currently active, perhaps 2 if Toney's little MMA experiment is over. Besides, boxing does have the best nicknames.

It's occurred to me that 'Slash' would be a good nickname for OJ Simpson. By the way, there was a slick, All-American guard at Depaul in the late 70's/early 80's named "Clyde the Glide" Bradshaw, predating the far more popular Drexler.
