| @Kyusil - I thought about that, but it seems like at that point it'd be too easy. If you know the games, and I say "Kecleon," you'll go "Oh yeah, chameleon," which is sort of like every other game referencing where Pokémon "come from." If reaction is overwhelming that I need to make such a change, however, I will. @rmzy - I was a little surprised when I saw Umbreon listed as a hare instead of a fox like every other Eevee form, but as I looked closer it made a lot of sense. The ears are particularly hare-like, as is the snout. Giratina (listed as basilisk) I think I should remove altogether, because it's just got way too much going on. Will do so. I'm also fine with accepting snake as an alternate for tsuchinoko. And I did the parenthetical on dragon because when people talk about dragons outside of specifically Chinese-style ones, they almost always mean European style. But I also didn't want to just leave it as "dragon" and cause people to think that therefore Rayquaza just wasn't on the quiz at all. I'll go ahead and flip the phrasing around on that one. @AwesomeWillv2 - In large part that's why I'm asking for opinions on how to improve this concept and streamline everything. As of right now Pidgeot has, as acceptable answers, "osprey," "eagle," "hawk," and "seahawk." Now an osprey, hawk, and eagle really aren't the same thing at all, but Pidgeot has elements of them. It's primarily an osprey, which is why that answer shows up, but if it's accepting the alternates I'm not sure I see a problem. The questions then are what alternates should be acceptable for which Pokémon so that we don't run into too much trouble, which animals (and therefore Pokémon) should be removed altogether, and which should be fused into another category. I appreciate the feedback so far guys, and thanks for checking the quiz out! |
