| I hate to criticize quiz-makers, because I know how hard it is to frame them even with a simple database. But there are a couple of hundred political parties in U.S. history of some note, and hundreds more that are more transient. You need to explain whether you're just including contemporary parties, or historical ones, or ones that ran Presidential campaigns, or won Electoral Votes, or were represented in the Congress, or won a certain number of votes or a certain number of states, or existed in a specific time frame or what. Otherwise, I could name ten or twenty that I tried unsuccessfully but which have as valid a claim as the ones you used: Constitutional Union (1860), Southern Democratic (1860), People's (various, including the official name of the Populists), Progressive (1912-16, 1924, 1948-52 and other times), Socialist Workers, Socialist Labor, AIP or American Independent, Greenback (late 19th century), Farmer Labor (ca 1920-1950), Union Labor (1880's), States' Rights (1948-60), Citizens, Reform, Jacksonian or Jacksonian Democratic, .... |
