Find a better source. But they are accurate though. But Sporcle prefers that you use another source. They themselves have not used it on the quizzes.

How confident are we that North Korea actually has the bomb? That seems sketchy to me.

I've changed the link to a more credible source (at least I think it's more credible). Also, pertaining to North Korea, it's been confirmed that they've successfully detonated at least a couple of nukes.

Isn't 13,000 nukes a little overkill? What is the point?

Another thing, this isn't the number of warheads that are still in use, you took the total number the nation has ever had. Example Russia's 13,000 is from during the cold war, a more realistic estimate is in the low 5000s today.

Any reason Israel is listed in your source, but not in your answers?

Firstly, the numbers are for total nukes not active nukes. Secondly, Israel is a bonus because they have never officially said they have nuclear weapons even though it's pretty widely accepted that they do, hence why they're a bonus but not an actual answer.

re: tscheno2 and Millian: Their detonation of nukes only proves that they *had* nukes. The ones you are referring to as proof, Millian, I'm pretty sure have been destroyed. :P

Israel shouldn't be a bonus answer just because they're undeclared. They definitely have nukes.

Between France and China, I doubt 60 nukes makes a difference when you already have over 200. I reckon 200 could pretty much ruin the world.

Both the US and Russia are under treaty to reduce nuclear stockpile to just 2150 weapons by 2010. Lets watch that one not happen.

Might want to add Brazil and Argentina as bonuses as both used to have nuclear weapons programs but voluntarily dismantled them.

If you're going to include former holders of nuclear weapons as bonuses, then you may as well include Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan (all decommissioned or returned theirs to Russia) and Canada (NATO sharing, but not since early '80s).

It would be odd if Switzerland had nuclear bombs. Switzerland was actually thinking about having a nuclear weapons program in the 1950's. We wouldn't make so many neutral jokes then, would we?

@Austerlitz: Neutral doesn't mean lacking military power. For many years, Switzerland maintained a very strong military - however, its purpose was purely defensive.
