These seem more like what one might call "nationalities" than ethnic groups — e.g. as ethnic groups, I don't think Lithuanians and Latvians would usually be separated (and I think the same goes for some of the central Asian and Siberian groups, though I'm not sure). But if you're going with as close a possible translation of what the source had, that's probably safest... It would be good to accept adjectives as well, though (i.e. "Russian", not just "Russians") — that seems more natural than needing the noun plurals. |
