Yes, I thought about that too, but they had very much home rule. And it would be on the list anyway, at the same place.

I was about to ask when the Vatican City last had the death penalty, but a quick look on wikipedia tells me 1969. Reserved for the 'attempted assassination of the Pope'. Much props to Venezuela.

@davebesag Iceland got home-rule in 1874 and became independent in 1918, but it became a republic in 1944. Between 1918 and 1944 Iceland was a constitutional monarchy with a personal union with Denmark meaning Christan X was the king of the Kingdom of Iceland(as well as the Kingdom of Denmark). So it should indeed be included. On another note the last execution in Iceland was in 1830 almost a 100years prior to it being outlawed.
