| The one thing that makes this quiz a little easier than it would otherwise be is that a lot of these people were in power for a LONG time. So like I couldn't name the leaders of Singapore, Paraguay, or Albania today, but the leaders in 1980 for those countries were in power for 31, 25, and 44 years respectively, so their names are almost synonymous with their countries. In fact, I just checked Wikipedia... of the 28 non-monarchs who ruled for 30 years or more, an astonishing 24 of them were in power on January 1, 1980. A few months later, and Robert Mugabe would take control of Zimbabwe. |
