I'm pretty sure some of these are wrong. I was under the impression that Robinho was the highest premiership transfer ever and after getting that did not consider the others like Veron who was definitely lower. And yeah, you've really got to accept Shevchenko.

Many of these values are wrong. Berbatov was only 35, im pretty sure. And wikipedia isn't a credible source. use www.transfermarkt.co.uk it's legit

@ Doubleunderscore: It's not only the premiership, it's global.

Everyone has to remember that the quiz is in Euros. While some players might have been more expensive in Pounds, the currency exchange rates, at the time, might have made the transfers comparatively less expensive in terms of Euros.

ermm Tevez came after berbatov and tevez only cost 25mill but Berbatov cost 30.5mill. So tevez should't be on this list because he was bought for less than all of theese players.

This made me think actually, the reason so many recent transfers seem to be higher than this, to we Brits, is probably more to do with the weakening of the pound rather than the inflation of fees. And Tévez's fee was a lot higher than initially believed, as there were all sorts of third parties to be paid off.
