| not much of a crazy comment when you sonsider that the nfl, mlb have bounced back considerably better than the nhl. hey, i love hockey, love the passion, action, playoffs....that said it has diminished in the mind of a lot of sports fans, or maybe i should say those fans that i know....we ooze sports, get together on sundays and especially for big games for baseball and basketball....it seems we only meet up for hockey if our team is in the playoffs and that does not happen as frequently as i would think...the average fan now will not consider hockey a major sport due to the amount of coverage given to the others....it does not make me sad or happy either way...just what i consider a response to a sport that doesn't command interest as the other ones do...you have to admit with ratings, attendence, etc. hockey seems at a low....i just hope it is a low the nfl had in the 60's and 70' and the nba had before bird, johnson, mj et al. im a boston fan and you should have seen fenway 45 years ago....can you imagine moving the red sox? times change, people change...my opinion is that hockey was on a lull five years ago but on its way back.....it just takes time for these things to happen |
