After the succes of the hottest and coldest countries per continent (http://www.sporcle.com/games/Merijn/Cold_Country and http://www.sporcle.com/games/Merijn/Hot_Country), now a sequel with wettest and driest countries per continent. I think this quiz is slightly more difficult than the hottest and coldest version, so let me know if you have enough time! Hope you enjoyed it!

Amazed by the lack of UK (Scotland) for Europe.

Just a suggestion, but you could combine all 4 quizes into 1 quiz with other categories as well.

It's funny that "lloro" is Spanish for "I weep, shed tears", so the Colombian place name is already related to water.

Although it isn't necessary at all for solving the quiz, it would be interesting (for those more accustomed to metric) to give the equivalence in millimeters (mm), maybe in parentheses next to the figure in inches. Top to bottom they are: 13,300 / 11,872 / 11,684 / 10,287 / 8,636 / 4,648 mm.

Crkvica or Crkvice is place in Montenegro not in BiH!

Amazed that no countries from Indochina claimed the most rainfall, or even Bangladesh.

@Bisquito: in fact, I knew that the world record for rain in one year (more than 26 meters or 85 feet; inches, let alone millimeters, are too small units for measuring that!) occurred in British India in the 19th century, but I didn't know to which modern country belonged the place. I thought it was more likely to be in Bangladesh than in India itself.

@dancastro and Bisquito: Mawsynram, India is very close to Bangladesh, in fact.

Lazarusz is right. Crkvice (the place with the record rainfall) is in Montenegro. There are also places named "Crkvica" in other former Yugoslav countries; this most likely led to the confusion. The word "crkvica" means 'chapel' in Serbocroatian. This explains why it's a rather common placename. I've given Lazarusz one point up; that is all I can do.

I should point out that the Hawaiian islands are technically part of Oceania.

I'm with Gamesmaster here: this is a matter of physical not political geography, so it seems really odd counting Hawai'i for North America (just as French Guiana isn't counted for Europe).
