| Northwestern is accepted as is the short name for every university. The spelling error was corrected, and as for the accepted answers, I accepted 3 or 4 variations for each answer. What I went by are commonly accepted references for each institution. For example, Boston College is often referred to as BC, however, I would not accept Boston. I attempted to do this for state universities as well, going by common references. I admit, that I could not possibly have gotten them all, and appreciate suggestions. I have never, and I will admit I may be wrong, heard of the University of Delaware referred to as Delaware, however, if I heard someone say they attended "Michigan" I would no automatically that they attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. In states like California, where there a number of UCs on the list, simply accepting California would not work. |
