| The answer is actually wrong, it is true that if you look at it logically it would be the German, but that's not the answer. The true answer is we don't know if anyone owns a fish. The hints never actually say that anyone owns a fish, we're just assuming the German must have one. Just to illustrate it I'll use an example. Both John and Paul have a pet, John owns a horse, who owns a cat? Most people would say Paul, not true, we're just assuming it, the answer is we don't know, Paul might as well own a dog or a snake, nowhere does it say that either John or Paul must be the owner of a cat. The reason why it is claimed that only 2% can solve the Einstein riddle is that 98% would make the assumption that the German must own the fish, just like most people would say that Paul owns the cat. Apparently Einstein made this riddle(although it can be questioned if Einstein actually made it)to teach people to not be confined by assumptions. |
