I could be persuaded to put some major suburbs outside the 7 county area or townships if there is a clamoring for them, but this was the easiest source to find.

It's a tough place to draw the line. The 7 counties are traditional but nowadays you have to look at the next ring out. I would definitely include Buffalo for instance. On the other hand, if you go too far in that direction you're getting into St. Cloud territory. 7 counties is more of a compromise than a satisfying boundary, and in that respect this is very comprehensive. I came up with a few townships but you'd have to include them all and let's not go overboard. Lots of fun, when time ran out I had lots of head-slappers.

No Elk River?

Elk River is one of those suburbs that falls outside of the 7 county definition. If I can find a source that's a bit better with further out municipalities, I'll definitely put it in.

Circle Pines appears to be missing, but an exceptional quiz nonetheless.

You're right about Circle Pines - it's been added in. Thanks!

Gee, I live here and barely got half of them. We have WAY too many suburbs.

Bloomington is actually officially considered a full metro on its own; not a suburb, even if most people think of it as one. Furthermore, it would be difficult and odd to determine which cities would then be "suburbs of Bloomington" rather than Mpls/St. Paul.
Mar 15th, 2011 at 02:23 GMT
No, Bloomington is not considered a separate metro on its own. Anyone who lives in the Twin Cities should know that; also, since metro areas are always defined in terms of counties and Bloomington is in the same county as Minneapolis, it is most definitely defined as a separate metro area either. The city is just a large suburb.
Mar 15th, 2011 at 15:55 GMT
Whoops, meant to say Bloomington is most definitely *not* defined as a separate metro area by the US Census Bureau.

Well, like mentioned before, the source only goes through the 7 county area, so any suburbs outside of that (which there are of course) were not included.
