| I suggest taking out the year column because otherwise this is just a shortened version of the "Best Picture Oscar Winners" quiz. It would make it more challenging. |

| chinatown? |
 | SanityLapse: | Nov 28th, 2009 at 05:26 GMT | | -2 points |
| Definitely agree with taking out the year. It's way too easy with it, and like LTH said, it causes this to become just a shortened version of the Best Picture Winners quiz. |
 | Rossipotamus: | Nov 30th, 2009 at 20:33 GMT | | 5 points |
| Chinatown won best screen play, not best picture in 74. |

| easy if you know the best picture winners |

| I think it is fine the way it is... great idea, and great job! |

| It's much too easy with the years given. Would be a better challenge without those hints. |
Comment below threshold: show it | MovieDynamic: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 04:32 GMT | | -56 points |
| How is that not a totally valid comment? Like LTH said, this is just an abridged version of the Best Picture Winners quiz. You have to take off the years. I literally finished this in 39 seconds. It shouldn't be that easy. |
 | 29smitty: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 04:38 GMT | | 14 points |
| @MovieDynamic, nobody made you look at the years. For those of us that don't know every oscar winner of the last 70 years, the years are helpful but don't give away the answer. |

| Admins should add one of those "toggle hints" options that some games have. |

| Oh please. You can't ignore the years when they're the darkest, boldest and most prominent thing on the screen. Give me a f***** break. |

| I had to stop when I realized that Goodfellas still hasn't taken its rightful Oscar back from the travesty that was Dances with Wolves... Mistake. |
Comment below threshold: show it | MovieDynamic: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 05:14 GMT | | -28 points |
| Except for the fact Dances with Wolves is a glorious, spellbinding epic that only gets hate from online frat boys who respond best to gangsters shooting each other up. Not that Goodfellas isn't also excellent. But it's not one or the other, folks. |
 | 29smitty: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 05:30 GMT | | 8 points |
| @MovieDynamic, chill out, they are not too hard to ignore. It's not like they are next to some other helpful hint that you need. On the countries of the world quiz the map is the most prominent hint but I bet that you can ignore it and still get a bunch of answers. |

| what about kramer vs. kramer? kramer and kramer are the same word, and vs. isnt a word |

| No love for "Sunrise"? |
 | sproutcm: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 07:32 GMT | | -3 points |
| 7 minutes? That is enough time to list every single Oscar winner. I had 6:15 left, because with the years to remind you this is pretty straightforward. My guess is this should be a 4 minute quiz. |
 | Ganashal: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 09:24 GMT | | 3 points |
| @deej: vs. is an abbreviated form of the word 'versus' which is a word, and 2 incidences of the word 'Kramer' is still two distinct words, albeit identical words. |

| Amadeus, Platoon, Unforgiven, Braveheart are just some of the movies I watch on a constant basis...so why oh why do I forget them here? |
 | Isstvan: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 11:44 GMT | | 1 point |
| Interesting how nearly half of them are named for one of the characters. |
 | pottedstu: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 17:59 GMT | | 8 points |
| As a fan of movies with exclamation marks in the title, I must point out 1968's winner was "Oliver!" (Sadly Crash did not have an exclamation mark). |
 | benjiman: | Dec 24th, 2009 at 21:42 GMT | | 2 points |
| I am very surprised that so few people got Oliver! |
 | madhatter22: | Dec 28th, 2009 at 20:58 GMT | | 6 points |
| Very fun. I do think 'Sunrise' would make a good bonus answer. |

| The full name is Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans, so I don't think it counts anyway. However, I'm totally pleased to see the Sunrise love. |

| I spent so long on the 1984 one going "but it's Godfather 2! How can that be right?" but then I realised that it was '84 not '74! |

| I don't know why everyone has to vote down MovieDynamic's comments. All he wants to do is tell us he's better than us, no big deal. By the way, when is the last time he has commented? He's been silent me thinks. |

| I'm still amazed that Titanic won an Oscar. Melodramatic nonsense. |
 | DashDixon: | Dec 29th, 2012 at 20:44 GMT | | 2 points |
| You'll be adding to this list in a few months, after either "Argo" or "Lincoln" wins Best Picture... |

| Someone should really add a Best Picture tag to this quiz. |
