You've got something here, but it needs refinement and it won't be easy. I've never taken Latin, but I got 5. "total victory" --> We Are The Champions, and a few others.
You, MartianBob, have the harder job: You have to find titles that are familiar enough to most people that even a non-Latin student can make the leap. I suspect "Stairway to Heaven" (Paradisus Ascensionis?), "We Built This City" (Institutus Civitas Hoc?), "Every Breath You Take" (Omnus Adflatus Adtraho?), "Crocodile Rock" (Petra Crocodilus?), "...Baby One More Time" ( "...Infantulus, Iterim") might be good candidates. Basically look for very well known titles with some unusual words or title structure.
And I'm sure my word-by-word translations are crap. As I said, I never took Latin.
