This is my first quiz, so let me know if the time is appropriate, if a hint other than position would be preferred, etc.

Good first quiz. Interesting topic and I think the one hint is enough.

I'd really like to know what, in the mind of these odds-makers, could possibly stand in Tim Duncan's way from entering Springfield. The only thing I can think of to hypothetically account for his missing .0001% of probability would be if he gets caught gambling on games - and I'd say the odds of that happening in Kobe Bryant's case is significantly higher.

Great first quiz. Keep rolling 'em out Maritimer! The only thing I found (albeit an EXTREMELY minor thing) is that there is a period before Joe Johnson's name. Other than that, I like the hint and I like the time. Well done.

Thanks guys. @recchi51 - thanks for catching the period. Fixed. @chriskotx - No kidding. There's no chance that he doesn't make the hall. None.

@chriskotx - The probability has nothing to do with odds makers. It is just a mathematical formula. Here is a link http://www.basketball-reference.com/about/hof_prob.html

this formula definitely has its flaws, nash and kidd will be first ballot hall of famers if they retired today. where as wade, stoudemire, carter, paul, mcgrady all would not be first ballot, if even on the first 3.

I can't figure out how Chris Bosh has a better chance of making the HOF than Steve Nash. As stated earlier Nash is a first ballot Hall of Famer, whereas Bosh is a vary good player who never sniffed a championship until after he hooked up with two sure HoF's in Lebron James and Dwyane Wade.

@ad808: it's because the formula values points and rebounds per game higher than assists per game, and Bosh does better on these two variables than Nash. But, it's just a regression analysis that does a pretty reasonable job of explaining who's in the HoF and who's likely to be; it isn't--and shouldn't be taken as the Be All and End All of who is a deserving candidate.

there is absolutely no way stoudemire should be higher than nash. nash is in for sure
