Never heard of the nicknames for the Rockies, Dodgers and Padres. Also, too much time.

its a little unnecessary to guess nicknames of abbreviated team names e.g. "Jays", "Niners", "BoSox" etc.

you should change the title since it asks us to name the 'other' nickname but the game has us name the actual nickname

how about some NHL nicknames to truly make it 'big 4'?? Here's a few to help you out... The Buds (Maple Leafs), the Habs (Canadiens), Broad Street Bullies (Flyers), the Pens (Penguins), the Isles (Islanders), the 'nucks (Canucks), the Oil (Oilers), Avs (Avalanche), Sens (Senators), The Canes (hurricanes)

yeah some of these nicknames like "the dads" for the padres dont really exist outside that teams hometown. Put more well known nicknames instead of abbreviated ones like "the phils" it gives it away.

I like what you're trying to do here, but some of these nicknames, like Steel Curtain, Monsters of Midway, Orange Crush, etc. only refer to a specific period in that teams history. Like the Steel Curtain specifically refers to the Steelers defense of the 70s, not just the Steelers franchise in general. And yeah definitely throw in some NHL teams too! On a side note, you didn't seem to accept "Cowgirls" under America's Team. Please fix that.

Could use some older nicknames, like "Dem Bums" and I think the oldest nicknames currently used by pro teams: the Habs and the Broadway Blueshirts.

@eaglesmania I know what you're saying, but I tried to mention in the title that the team 'other' nicknames can refer to a franchises team during a specific year or set of players.

@thehammer1 I realize I left the NHL out but I honestly am not a hockey fan and have limited knowledge of the sport, I would not want to disrespect the sport and its fans by possibly entering wrong information.

Good trick using Pirates for Bucs instead of using the Buccaneers. It looks like one of the abbreviations.

I hadn't scrolled down far enough when I started, so when "Bucs" popped up, I kept trying Buccaneers, thinking I had accidentally spelled it wrong. About 20 seconds later, I realized that I should probably make sure I was even in the right sport *facepalm*

As others have said, it would probably be a good idea to remove some of the glaringly obvious ones like "The 'Stros" or "The Grizz"- the quiz would be fine if it was a little shorter.

Having gone to college in San Diego, The Padres were often referred to as the Friars, but I can't think of one time I heard them called the "dads".

i agree with torerodrizzle about the friars, and adding a few nhl teams and getting rid of things like "Jays" wouldn't be a bad idea. i think "Bronx Bombers" is more common than "Evil Empire" too

The 2009 Cincinnati Bengals were often referred to as the "Cardiac Cats" since they had a string of consecutive games with a final drive comeback.

Too much NFL/MBA and not enough NHL. Seriously lacking in NHL. Not a single team? Habs (Montreal Canadiens), Sens (Senators), Leafs (Toronto Maple Leafs), Hawks (Blackhawks), Caps (Washington Capitals)

Most of these are just shortened versions of the nickname and are easily get-able. And the bucs would then be a nickname also of the tampa bay buccaneers

ch7 - but they aren't in the MLB, the league indicated in the 3rd column
MSiNX - replace some of the obvious ones with NHL ones suggested by thehammer1, especially 'Habs' & 'Broad Street Bullies', you already have 'Bolts' but if you want to be NHL-inclusive you could change it to the Lightning, but whatever you do, keep the 'Evil Empire'

I think just "PaleHose" is sufficient for the White Sox. "Black Sox" refers solely to the 1919 team, not even an era but a single year/event.
