Perhaps makes the words start with different letters? (I kind of just learned the order of the beginning letters: HMPBCRAUEO) :P Good quiz anyway :)

There was a HAT on the head of a MAN. He had a PIN with which he stabbed a BUG. The bug fell into a CUP which was RED, and an ANT ran past. The ant climbed an URN, and in the END an OAF knocked it over. Not going to win any literature prizes but it helped! :)

The key to this quiz is to skip the "I'm Ready" part and refer to it to get it in order, then, click "I'm Ready" last.

I'm fascinated reading the devices some of you used to remember the order of the words. I thought I was creative putting them into mini groups that sounded cool together...but a bunch of you put me to shame.

10/11 could have run out of time. This was a very cool quiz, though. I finished with 7 seconds left, very well done.

I used a mnemonic device. Got it on the first try with 33 seconds to spare. I'm not bragging. I am honestly just saying this because it is quite helpful. It would be harder if the words began with the same letter.

I used a similar method to JennyMarie above. My story went as follows: The HAT MAN PINned a BUG on a CUP. Then, I REaD ANT (Aunt) URNa "The END LOAF". ("The End Loaf" being a book title).

Mnemonics certainly help with memorization. That's a proven fact. However, for a list as short as this, the same length as a phone number for example, it is easily memorizable if you just group things together. memorize hatmanpin as one group in the first few seconds then move on and add on bugcupred. Then tack on the anturnendoaf and you're good to go. No special tricks should be needed for a list of ten, honestly. Definitely if it had been 20, though a Mnemonic would help greatly.

I tried hatmanpin, which my in changed to ScatmanCrothers, which started me down the inevitable FreddiePrinzeJackAlbertson Chico and the Man avenue, NBC Friday nights in the 70s, Sanford and Son, and before I knew it, I was laughing my tush off and the minute was up. All because of hatmanpin. That was funnier than the Shining/redrum/ax in the chest gory alternative. In reality, it took me three shots and I used first letters.

I remembered the first letters. It helped a lot that the last four were the vowels. So really it became just remembering a sequence of 6 consenants and then a secodn sequence of 4 vowels. I agree it would be instantly harder if there were first letter double ups or, for a real challenge, every word beginning with the same letter and of the same length.

It tried the grouping and saying out loud. Hat-man-pin-bug. Hat-man-pin-bug. Hat-man-pin-bug. Ok, got it. Cup-red-ant. Cup-red-ant. Sounds good. Urn-end-oaf. Urn-end-oaf. I'm ready. Hat-man-pin-bug-cup-red-END!

I chunked mine a bit in order hat-man went together so did red-ant and urn-end. Pin-Bug was.. shakey at best then the two oddball words lol. Oddly if I clicked I'm Ready first it told me I was wrong. So I just clicked the next arrow, answered then clicked I'm ready- got 11/11 that way. Would have been wild if the original list was randomized AND the clickies randomized. Eek! ok on second thought...not a good idea lol.
