As a brand-name soda, yes. But there's also a sprite that is a magical creature.

I could've sworn that an anser is a type of golf club, but apparently it's always capitalized, and probably obscure enough that it's not worth including. Asner, on the other hand, should totally be a bonus answer.

Eta is a letter in the Greek alphabet, and don't think it has to be capitalized. Could "etas" be included for "ates"?

Isn't "stirpes" a legal term for offspring? I thought I've seen in used in wills. Any lawyers or paralegals out there in SporcleLand who might know for sure?

scrabble dictionary gives seta (a stiff hair or bristle on an organism) and etas (plural of eta, a greek letter) in addition to the ones you have listed. (also it gives satem, tripes, repos and ates as words themselves)

"Stirpes" is indeed a commonly used legal term, but it is Latin -- which is probably why it is not included here.

Also, "stirpes" would not have fit the pattern. The words in the quiz have only one S, not two.
