Hi all, a quick note here. I created the 60s version of this quiz a little less than a year ago, said the 70s one was coming, and then promptly didn't make any quizzes for several months. So, sorry about that. More quizzes in this series will be coming, and you shouldn't have to wait months on end for them.
I switched to using Discogs.com instead of Billboard for the source, because Discogs seems to be more comprehensive (at least with Billboard's current site; I think they used to cover more than just what charted). Of course, this was mostly just to confirm that my made-up band names hadn't already been made up by somebody else.
I think you'll find some surprises on both sides of reality here. There were several real band names I didn't believe when I stumbled across them, and some of my fictional ones I was sure would be taken weren't. |
