Cool quiz. However generally the current Ottawa Senators are not considered a continuation of the former franchise.

I think it's a bit too easy with the dates there. Instead of having to really recall the Hart Trophy winners, you just have to remember who was playing for that team in that era, and it's easy to figure out. I don't think it's a bad idea to include all teams and have the answer as "none" for the ones without an MVP. It's an extra little twist that digs into your time. Just my two cents.

@Craig: Didn't they continue the retired numbers?

The Ottawa Senators that Frank Nighbor played for played in the NHL from 1917 to 1934 and then disbanded. The current Ottawa Senators franchise is related only in name and came into existence in 1992. Nighbor shouldn't be on this quiz.

Agreed with BCSwede, too easy with the dates included.

Why shouldn't Nighbor be here? There are Montreal Maroons, Brooklyn Americans and Hamilton Tigers here too... This was a very nice and interesting quiz!

I would just like to mention that on my first play, I got every single one, including Burch, Stewart, Nighbor, and Anderson. I, uh, read a LOT of hockey history.

The Boston Bruins one is wrong. Esposito was not the last one to win the MVP as a Bruin. Orr did it in 1970, 1971 and 1972 and Esposito did it again in 1974.

@Clockwork - so by your statement, Esposito won it more recently than Orr, which makes the quiz correct. But my question is, should Thornton count for the Boston Bruins since he played for them most of the season that he won the MVP (05-06)?

GAH. I thought Fedorov was spelled Federov, so didn't get it and was driving myself nuts guessing every Red Wing I could think of.

@Leeny. Joe Thornton played only 23 games for the Bruins before being traded to San Jose. He played 58 games for the Sharks that year.

Clockwork is right. The year should be 1974 for Esposito.

5.1% of the people who took this quiz are Maple Leafs fans. 0.6% just know a lot about hockey MVPs
