| @PWT3 - I've avoided trying to get into any arguments with you because it's clearly going to be a waste of time, but the entire point of this formula WAS to quantify absolutely everything. That was/is my goal. Obviously I can't quantify how a fan feels about his favorite teams/players, like how you clearly feel about Hakeem, so I was trying to quantify everything taking fan opinion out of it. I personally don't feel one way or the other about Hakeem being better than Duncan. My gut feeling is that Hakeem was better, but all the evidence I've compiled says otherwise. Personally, I'm partial to Charles Barkley. I always say I'd rather have him than Karl Malone. But I'm never going to come up with a formula that definitively states Barkley was better. If you can come up with a formula that proves Hakeem was better than Duncan and Shaq, more power to you. I'd love to see it. That's not sarcasm either, I really would. But you're arguing points that I'm not even potential considering. (And by the way, the 95 Finals hardly count as any kind of definitive proof considering Hakeem was in his prime and Shaq was in his, what? 3rd year in the league.) But like I said, this is 100% totally based on quantifying absolutely everything. If I'm missing something that should be in the formula, please let me know. But I simply can't put in "this guy is just better than that guy." I'm sure there are just as many people who think that both Duncan and Shaq are 100% definitively better than Hakeem. But you just don't seem to be getting that. But, hey, I guess there are some people that, if they don't know, you can't tell 'em. |
