| In my ongoing quest to find a way to completely objectively rate players, I've developed a formula that ranks a player's career in comparison to other player's careers. Keep in mind this doesn't necessarily say one player was BETTER, more skilled, or more talented than another, simply that he had a more successful career. The formula takes into account win shares (a measure of how much a player contributed to his team's success in the regular season), MVP award shares (how many votes a player got for MVP - this helps distinguish unanimous MVP seasons from close ones), All-NBA selections, All-Star selections, and playoff win shares IF a player's team made it to at least the conference finals (how far a player's team progressed determines the weight of those win shares.) Overall, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out so far, but please feel free to comment with questions or feedback, or if you notice any errors in the teams for any players |
