idk if you should change it here but the opening went to "effing cry" instead of laugh and cry...like permanently

It never did. Seth MacFarlane has stated on numerous occasions (including the DVD commentary for the series) that the lyric was always meant to be 'laugh and cry'.

Maybe Seth did say that but I think it's intended to be construed as effin cry. That's what I always got.

It's really confusing how the words are all mixed up in the answers.

I thought it might be too easy at 3 minutes so it has to be a bit of a challenge, i don't think 2 minutes is that hard :S I don't understand what you mean by "the words are all mixed up in the answers" you just follow the lyrics down the column in the order you hear them in the song!!

I would have gotten all of the lyrics correct, except I missed the two "lucky"s. I tried luckily and gladly.. but to no avail.

@barbara_421: its definitely not meant to be construed as "effin cry"...as roseadams mentioned...seth macfarlane has stated multiple times that it has always been meant to be laugh and cry...if he said that, then why would it be intended to be construed as effin cry?

Wow, "violence in movies" tripped me up far more than it should have. I kept trying "violence and movies" or "violence, old movies" before trying "in". Curse Lois Griffin's nasal singing voice.

As Seth MacFarlane related in the DVD commentary, though, so many people confused "Laugh and cry" with "Effin' cry" that it became a running joke. And there's at least one episode that is actually close-captioned with "Effin' cry." But technically, no, it's "Laugh and cry," as others have already pointed out. ;-D

The lyric was always "Laugh and cry". But after the first couple of seasons, Seth MacFarlane resung the line more clearly because so many people were hearing it as "effing cry".

Changes have been made. I also shortened the time limit to make it more interesting, everyone should know Family Guy lyrics better than the national anthem by now...

Always like the song lyric quizzes but I really hate typing test. Some of us out here are not fast typist but still love to test our knowledge. Just because we have slow fingers doesn't mean we don't know our stuff. Please consider us when you choose a time. I mean with song lyrics either you know them or you don't. Putting a short time period on the quiz only test ones typing speed. Watch now how all the fast typist will feel superior and start giving me negative points to feel better about themselves.

@Spacemaniac: What was wrong with forced order? It's really annoying to know the lyrics in order, but have to deal with other words coming up when you're typing. The second and third words of this song ("seems" and "today") both make "see" and "to" come up, then you have to delete the second parts of those words that you've already typed AND work around the answers that you've "accidentally" gotten.

Yeah I'm really disappointed they've don't that, I set it out so that the forced order would make it more interesting as a speed contest, it's just weird and clunky now, but that's the price this quiz has paid to be published. So wish they'd just kept it same as before, it would've been a lot more popular :S

@Spacemaniac cheers mate I am glad to be published but I did deffo prefer the forced order just like I say 'cos of the clunkiness, and I liked singing it and typing out at the same time :P

UKver2 - I used to watch it subbed on BBC3, and half the episodes were subbed 'laugh and cry' and half 'effin cry', and so I'm not even sure which it is 'officially'
