Largest population question is incorrect, Tokyo has the largest population in the world.
Feb 20th, 2011 at 19:06 GMT
And questions where you're asking a number of countries or states that fit a category don't belong here. You shouldn't expect people to count the number of countries starting with A in a speed quiz.

The Caspian sea is actually not a sea. Stopped playing after that. Quite bad.
Feb 20th, 2011 at 19:58 GMT
I like the concept, but it is impossible to give the number of countries ending in A in this short period of time

Cheryle28: I am not saying that one of those cities has the largest populations in the world, the question is which of those THREE has the largest population. It is that way with all the other questions that ask you to decide between multiple countries. ____ Crazylegs (and kobayashi): If you played the original speed geography which was published, you would have seen that there are multiple questions that ask how many countries/states start with a certain letter. Just because you are not quick and/or educated enough to answer it does not mean it does not belong in the quiz. ______ Nyo: The Caspian Sea is actually a sea, if you would do a little research you would know that. What else do you expect it to be? I put in over 2 hours to make this quiz and it is nearly flawless so you have no right to judge it...I'd like to see you make one half as involved as this...
Feb 20th, 2011 at 23:51 GMT
Everyone has a right to judge it. For you to question someone's level of education based on whether they can give the number of countries starting with 'A' is ridiculous. You even admitted to taking over two hours to put this quiz together and I'm willing to assume you didn't know that number either. It is ridiculous to put that in your quiz and because of that many people will not finish it, therefore, wasting your time by putting the rest of the quiz together. Oh, and the fact that the original 'Speed Geography' was published has no bearing on whether or not it was a good quiz, let alone, if this was a good quiz. There were some good points, but overall it was not due to the nature of the questions asked in a 'speed' quiz. Maybe you should put in three hours next time and make it worth while.

Sick dude, someone takes sporcle way to seriously. Fifty percent of the people who played got the question about the A's correct, meaning that 143 people got that right. Clearly the TWO PEOPLE (out of 285 that took the quiz) who posted that are just bitter about not getting the question correct. I feel as though the question is acceptable for the quiz, but if I do decide it is not I can always edit it later, which is why there is even less of a reason for you to get mad right now. I wouldn't expect people to count them all while playing...some people might just have that piece of useless knowledge, or they could always look it up. Since half the people got it right and only 2 people complained I'm not too concerned. Nice quiz about Nebraska by the way, it has half the amount of plays as mine and mine is one day old.

haha if you type the answers like 'good start' and 'keep going' it will show up if you don't know the answer guess an encouraging remark instead!
Feb 21st, 2011 at 11:56 GMT
That's funny but its not possible to come up with about 50 encouraging remarks in 3 minutes, let alone guess each one at the right time. For those kids who are too wimpy to answer the question about how many countries begin with A, I will tell you the remark for that one is "Okay." In the question that follows, asking how many of those also end with A, the remark is "Yup".
Feb 21st, 2011 at 14:16 GMT
I made some changes... First, I took out all the "how many _______ begin with ____" questions. Second, I took out the question about the sea, because it provided some confusion (some say the Caspian is not actually a sea). Finally, I added the word "these" to questions where you had to decide between three countries. This shows that for example I'm not saying that Niger is the largest country in the world, just that is the largest of those three.

It's Lesotho that's landlocked within South Africa. Swaziland has a border with Mozambique too.

not sure i get your explanation for the largest city population quiz. If tokyo has the largest population in the world (which it does) then it will have more than any other city regardless of how you word the question. Also generally a sea is defined as such when it is connected to an ocean. The Caspian sea is therefore technically a lake as it is surrounded by land. Admittedly this is a grey area though.

Re: "What is the only Asian country to be predominantly Catholic?" There are two predominantly Catholic countries in Asia: Timor-Leste (98% Catholic, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_East_Timor) and the Philippines (80% Catholic, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippines). Suggest you replace the word "only" in that question with "largest," as the Philippines is both larger in area and more populous than Timor-Leste.

Buckers...Moscow has a population of 10,563,038, Tokyo 8,887,608 so check your sourcess next time. Also I took out the question about the Caspian Sea a while ago. Tahiti...sorry about that, I'll figure out a good edit. Probably not the one you recommended, but maybe I'll change the wording and accept both answers.

Hmmm, good question... let me think here...Ah! How about a lake? If you had done a little research you might have known that. Also calling people out on the quizes they have (not) made just because their critisism hurts your fragile little ego is rather immature.

What source are you using for the Tokyo/Moscow thing. Pretty much everything I've seen says toyko is bigger including many published sporcle quizzes. According to About.com Tokyo is 33,200,000 and ranked number 1, and Moscow is 10,500,000 ranked 17. According to CIA fact book Tokyo has 36.507 million people and 10.523 million. According to Wikipedia Moscow has 11,514,300 people and Tokyo 13,010,279. The number vary but it is commonly known that Tokyo is the bigger of the 2 so I suggest you change it because your source is incorrect and people will continue to bash your quiz if you don't fix a commonly known fact. By the way I am not trying to be rude or criticize, I enjoyed your quiz, It had a lot of variety and showed to put a lot of effort into it. I just would like all of the information to be correct
May 20th, 2011 at 19:08 GMT
Ummmmm - Tokyo is the most populous city. Moscow isn't ...
