| It's a great concept, but in a few cases I think it stretches the definition of "fake" (the Monkees) and "band" (the California Raisins). It's also, unfortunately, *really* wildly varied in terms of familiarity--the Monkees and the Chipmunks are almost hard not to have heard of, but then there's the "1991 episode of Saved By the Bell"; "That Thing You Do" was *about* The Wonders (I didn't get it, but I recognize that as fair), while "Sexual Chocolate" was a quick one-off joke in "Coming to America". |
