Great idea. Five is also worth 10 in scrabble.

Chicken seems right, but is there some strict definition of barnyard animals.

When I guessed 'sleepy' for 7 dwarfs, it gave me blinky for pac man ghosts. Is sleepy a common nickname for blinky ? Or is it just a mistake? That was fun. More!

Surely United States of America has most Scrabble points than Switzerland?

Federated States of Micronesia probably beats out USA for points.

Thanks for keeping me honest, guys! You really got me thinking, so I checked up on the spelling of "gasses" and interestingly, both versions are acceptable (according to Websters dictionary). However, Google has far more hits for "gases" than "gasses," so I'll give you that one. Can you think of a better answer for barnyard animals? Bonus points if you can! As far as the USA vs. Switzerland vs. Micronesia debate, I was trying to use the common Sporcle country names (United States and Micronesia) but if enough people complain, I'm willing to concede. I'll check on the sleepy thing. Thanks for playing!

And upon checking, you will get a bonus answer for "United States of America" but only if you spell it out ;)

Wow, tough (but good) quiz! I once tried to figure out how much "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" would be in Scrabble. That should be a bonus answer just because.

I don't think that Scrabble is the game that really epitomizes Sporcle. Let's see if we can create a quiz that defines most Sporclers: A lot of Risk, tons of Sorry, and no Life.

NOBODY VOTE DOWN MCORY!
He's just a terrible stand-up comedian whose goal is to get the lowest average comment score possible and rile up Sporclers. Personally, I think he should be banned from the site, but regardless, all he wants is for people to overreact to his (complete lack of) humor. If anything, vote him up, just so he doesn't get the satisfaction.

The "Pac-Man Ghosts" clue could be renamed "Pac-Man Ghost (Nickname)", as I believe they had both names and a nicknames for each.

@adambomb1976 - Good point, but all of their names (Shadow, Speedy, Stylish, and Pokey, I believe), are worth less than "Blinky" anyway.

@jimboburgess: Hope somebody plays "SHIRE" on the right or bottom parts of the board, and hope you have the letters/blanks to make "NEWHAMP".
And be playing a version that allows proper nouns made up of multiple words, of course.

Have to laugh...I typed in Valenzuela instead of Venezuela. Fernando may have gotten kind of large at the end of his career, but I guess not big enough to be classified as a South American country. Besides, he is Mexican, not South American.

Aren't any of you familiar with the 50 point bonus for using up all your tiles (presumably in a 7 letter word)? By that standard words such as Tuesday or Germany would be worth way more points than Wednesday or Switzerland
