you have to type in the asterisk to get the senators to pop up. fix? but besides that, they arent defunct...they still play in the northeast division with the bruins, sabres, etc.

Yeah very confusing with the Senators on both counts.

Oh, sorry. Fixed it. I only typed Sens so didn´t realize. But... the Sens that won in the 20s are a defunct franchise. They played til 1934. The team playing now in the Northeast is using the same name, but is a new franchise.

A's should work for Athletics. It's probably worth noting that this includes franchises that have moved, to make it clear that, for example, Dodgers include both LA and Brooklyn. Funny how quizzes on individual players include 1876-1900, but team quizzes don't.

Didn´t want to make the columns too large. Should I include the former cities? And for the years, the leagues didn´t exist before, but the players played somewhere ;) And Athletics, I thought about it, but then you get it by typing Astros.

@Lauro I agree with bobc. Reds show up by typing in Red Sox, and most other quizzes accept A's, so I also think it should count.

Technically the current Browns have won 0. The wins they earned were as the old franchise Browns, which are now the Baltimore Ravens. If you are going to carry over championships earned by franchises before they moved (for example, the Colts when they were in Baltimore or the Lakers when they were in Minneapolis), then the Ravens should be listed here in place of the Browns (and with an additional championship from their recent Superbowl in 2000).

no, when the browns packed up and moved to baltimore to become the ravens, there was much tumuolt, so when a 'new' browns team started ni cleveland a few years later, the NFL allowed the 'expansion' browns team to assume the records of the old browns team, and the ravens were treated as an expansion team
