I have to get back to studying those Pacific Islands. And I totally blanked on Somalia's capital, even though it's in the news every day!

Can't believe I got Mbabane and Majuro, but missed Moscow.

It's funny how on these type of quizzes I'm just as likely to get Melekeok as I am to get Moscow. Mexico City was even my last answer!

I always seem to miss something obvious... and this time it was Manila.

I seem to have a permanent block on Moroni.

This is ridiculous. The first two that popped right in to my head were "Majuro" and "Mbabane." Moscow came 5th, and Mexico City 19th. What's even more awkward is that Maputo and Maseru, which are near to Mbabane, came 13th and 14th. I held off for almost 3 years, but Sporclitis is taking a stronger hold than ever before.

Note to self: When you're stuck, go through all the islands. Dang Manila.

...except that the capital of Palau is Ngerulmud, a settlement in the *state* of Melekeok 2 km away from Melekeok town, not Melekeok.
Feb 9th, 2013 at 23:42 GMT
@Kitimat88- according to CIA World Factbook the capital is Melekeok

Once my brain fixated on the idea of "Micronesia City" I had a hard time getting it unfixated.

The CIA World Factbook isn't necessarily accurate. It gets various bits of information wrong or significantly out of date, and it's not listed above as the source (in which case the point would be more valid). Holy's comment is very useful, although 'Ngerulmud, Melekeok' still sounds like Melekeok is just the state the capital's in, a la 'Ottawa, Ontario' (unless it's a habitual part of the name like 'Washington, D.C.').

Got Moroni, missed Manila.
