The fact that all the ladders are exactly the same size is amazing. And the 'Se7en' clue under the '7' column is just brilliant. Well done!

This is extremely quibbling of me, but I'm not sure I'd consider Greg Oden a "star". True, he's decent enough when healthy, but the guy can not get on the court.

@kewlman139: No, it's eins. 'ein' means 'a', e.g. ein Hund = a dog

This is really brilliant. I feel like there's a lot of time to brute-force things; it'd be awfully appropriate to reduce it to 10 minutes...

Some of these numbers have no real Latin alphabet translation, so it becomes vague as to what you want.

This is amazingly well-crafted. To begin and end each ladder with the appropriate number word (with multiple additional number references), while using reasonable word choices and succinct, accurate clues -- wow. Kudos.

It's amazing to see just how much certain languages resemble each other. Just look at the 3's! I was quite surprised that the German and Romanian were so similar to the Spanish. Coincidence? Perhaps. Perhaps it has to do with the mincing of barbarians and Romans during the Empire. LTH, you've inspired me to do some research!

@thedropsoffire Linguists think that both Germanic and Romance languages evolved from a common ancestor, which is called Proto-Indo-European. Their names for the numbers would be familiar to speakers of many languages today: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proto-Indo-European_language#Numbers

^Exactly. And not only Germanic and Romance, also Slavic and Celtic languages and many more. So you not only find predictable similarities like German and Swedish or Italian and Portuguese, but also some unexpected ones like the Russian dyesyat' (ten) that sounds close to the Spanish diez (especially in Latin America where the z has an "s" sound).

unfortunatly, the most commonly used german word for "one" is "ein" and not "eins". Kinda threw me off. The rest of the quiz was good though

I would have gotten more if I had known how to spell things in other languages and if my brain had made the obvious connection between Yiddish and German numbers.
