| @BamaRainbow: it's correct that "está" is also used with the formal 2nd person (usted), but in this case the "usted" should be added. The two possibilities for translating "Where are you?" are: ¿Dónde estás? (familiar you) or "¿Dónde está usted?" (formal you). I think here the former is better. "Tercera piedra del sol" is literally "third sun's stone"; I'd translate it better as "Tercera roca desde el Sol" (Sol is capitalized when it's the heavenly body, it's "sol" when it refers to sunshine, like in "tomar sol"). I understand "acres verdes" because I'm a civil engineer, but 99% of Spanish speakers wouldn't, simply because they don't know that "acre" (same spelling in Eng. and Sp.) is the Imperial measure for the area of fields. Although 1 acre equals only 0.4048 hectares, if I were to translate it I'd prefer "Hectáreas verdes", so all Spanish speakers would understand that it has something to do with the country. |
