	Technically speaking, divers don't use "oxygen tanks." They use compressed air tanks. Other than normal atmospheric air, some divers use a gas mixture called Nitrox, which has a bit more oxygen in it that normal air.

	Google Oxygen Tanks and you'll find that the term is common usage when referring to Air Tanks. Especially by medical supply companies, who definitely are not trying to Off Their customers.

	@bainbp - That's why the question says, "traditionally." Before it was standardized to be a Monday holiday (Wikipedia says in 1971), Columbus Day was always October 12.

	@caramba: Calling a scuba tank an oxygen tank may be a common term but that only makes it a common mistake. They are NOT oxygen tanks and have different valves posts than oxygen tanks so they can not be confused. Medical supply companies do have oxygen tanks used for administering oxygen for medical reasons. If a diver used pure oxygen he could be in trouble, oxygen becomes toxic at 1.6 atmospheres ( about 20 ft ) and the diver could go into convulsions and die. So to say a diver uses and oxygen tank is not only wrong, it could be deadly.

	Seriously, it has to be "O" Tannenbaum, not "Oh?" Because I spent about a minute trying different spellings of "Tannenbaum" before I looked up the spelling and realized I was right from the start.
