| Apparently, the official Scrabble Player's Dictionary doesn't accept swear words (10th clue). I wasted far too many seconds when my first choice on that clue didn't work. |
 | Flick: | Jul 24th, 2010 at 05:17 GMT | | 4 points |
| Guilty of using the above as my first guess ! (but I guess I won't be the last). I'm sure you can think of a witty bonus response. Great quiz. |

| True, the OSPD is now bowdlerised, and I understand why you don't want to display the possibly-offensive answer, but maybe accept it nonetheless? It's a real word; it's tournament-legal in Scrabble; and you'll put a momentary smile on plenty of Sporclers' faces :-) |

| Fun quiz, and a good choice of tough ones there at the end. |

| I have to admit I tried that certain 4-letter S-word too. Awesome quiz. I'm nominating it. |
 | Kicking222: | Jul 25th, 2010 at 14:31 GMT | | 1 point |
| Glad to see this one is being well-received, LTH. I had no doubt that it would be, as it's an awesome quiz; I also had no doubt that people would give you s$#@ about not counting the word s!*&. ;) |
 | pita: | Jul 25th, 2010 at 15:44 GMT | | 1 point |
| Why include it if your not going to accept a valid, though offensive word? That just doesn't make sense. |
 | mehmeh53: | Jul 25th, 2010 at 17:23 GMT | | -1 points |
| Yep. Like it or not, it is a word. |
 | LTH: | Aug 2nd, 2010 at 21:32 GMT | | 1 point |
| Okay, even though the Scrabble dictionary does not include that particular word, I replaced the tenth jumble anyway. |
 | WyvernSabres: | Aug 7th, 2010 at 18:12 GMT | | 3 points |
| Very good quiz. The refusal to allow "OCHE" stopped me in my tracks and I couldn't regain the chain of thought fast enough to finish. |

| ...And I had just finished putting my keyboard back together after the 60 second blitz: Asia quiz. But all jokes aside, really good quiz, makes you sweat. |

| Seriously, this OCHE thing is starting to bug me now (this is about the third quiz where it's caused a thing). Do Americans not play darts? |
 | Jono_: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 14:47 GMT | | 10 points |
| In North America, darts are something you play while drunk, like shuffleboard or beer pong. It's not considered to be a real sport. :P |

| I think I'd prefer a jumble with a few long words (unhidden)so it doesn't become a typing speed quiz. |
 | SuzyCreamcheeze: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 15:13 GMT | | 9 points |
| Jono_ real sport or not, the word oche still exists. It's a game anyway, not a sport. And it's 'darts is' not 'darts are'. That's all for now... |
 | XCBoss: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 15:16 GMT | | 15 points |
| For some reason I had a lot of trouble with "ASTO" but I finally put in "oast." Fun quiz. |
 | DrPepper: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 15:26 GMT | | 1 point |
| Really fun quiz :D |
 | Toby404: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 15:34 GMT | | 46 points |
| for some reason I felt i had to put toast for'ASTO' |
 | Yvonne_india: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 15:45 GMT | | 11 points |
| Good quiz, couldn't beleive it when it accepted "taos". No-one's claiming that darts is a sport, just that it exists. |

| Love it. Timing made it a perfect challenge to make up new words. |

| I know a lot of people who would love to note that the one that tripped me up for the longest was ATTC. |
 | Speenatch: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 16:25 GMT | | 3 points |
| I'm glad I didn't take my time at the beginning; I needed every second once the words got harder. |
 | Cryptus: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 16:36 GMT | | 6 points |
| Oche? It is a valid word, whether or not certain people play the game or not. |
 | the_hmh_project: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 16:38 GMT | | 1 point |
| Got all 50 on my third attempt. This is more than enough to delude myself that I'm GOOD FOR SOMETHING! Yay! Awesome quiz. |

| excellent |

| HOAL almsot tripped me up at the end - took about 10 seconds to come up with an answer, and I finished with but 4 seconds left on the clock.
Very good quiz |
 | doxiepaine: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 17:14 GMT | | 3 points |
| Like all the word jumble ones that have been popping up lately, I loved it. |
 | redsxfenway: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 17:20 GMT | | 13 points |
| I got caught up on Alex, my own name. |
 | SporcleAdmin: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 17:36 GMT | | 25 points |
| Hey all, given the Oche comments, we decided to swap that one out. I guess you could say it toed the line, was behind the mark, and wasn't quite a bulls-eye. |

| Nugs is a word, any connoisseurs of cannabis could tell you that. |
 | Andy2k9: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 19:09 GMT | | 2 points |
| Nice simple quiz |
 | IHateRegistering: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 19:27 GMT | | 7 points |
| I like how sometimes you come up with the least common word as your answer, for example I typed in OPUS rather than SOUP. I'm not sure if I even know what an opus is. |
 | BonnieH: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 20:02 GMT | | 4 points |
| Took me four times to get them all in the time limit. But to be fair, the first time I was interrupted by work, which ruins all my fun at Sporcle. |
 | ivyagogo: | Aug 10th, 2010 at 20:02 GMT | | 2 points |
| xcboss - I did too. That one really screwed up my time. |

| (WARNING -- nitpicking ahead) Dear Sporcle Admin: when you publish these quizzes, it would lend a touch of authenticity if you would list the four letters (i.e. "the hint column") in alphabetical order, a.k.a. the words' "alphagrams." That is accepted canon in the Scrabble community for the presentation of random letters to be anagrammed. Thanks! |
