	ktappe, In the 1940s the State Department paid for cultural goodwill tours of Latin America, which they viewed as part of their efforts to counteract any overtures by Hitler and the axis powers towards those countries. These visits included ones by Douglas Fairbanks, the Yale Glee Club, and Walt Disney Jock Whitney, who had helped organize the tours, also agreed to help underwrite a series of films on Latin American subjects by Disney. These included both Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros.
