Not only is there no 'nap' in Minneapolis, but Minneapolis isn't even the capital of Minnesota. It's St. Paul. Besides that, there's a 'for' also in Frankfort.

@cricket, some capitals don't work in this format (e.g. Olympia) and others I thought were too obvious (like 'rich' for Richmond) so I left those out as well.

First, there's not enough time. Second and more important, I think most people think that each capital is only going to be used once, if not explicitly mentioned otherwise.

Carson City? You've got "car" and you've got "son". Heck, you even have "arson"

As LTH said, some that were too obvious (den, dove, hart, indian, june, mad, pie, saint, sale, spring, tall, top etc...)were left out.

was hoping this was world capitals with hidden words, as I have no idea what the US capitals are, any more than an American would know UK County towns, just the way it is I guess

Really? No one even noticed that Nashville isn't even a state capital? Tennessee's capital is KNOXville. Oy vey.

@awesomejenna: Fail. "Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee and the county seat of Davidson County." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashville,_tn

Hahaha Wow. Kids, see what insomnia can do to you? It messes with your brain. I definitely knew it was Nashville, but for some reason I doubted it so I googled "Tennesee capital" and a suggestion was "Tennessee capital is Knoxville" because it USED to be the capital. Meh. I need sleeeeeeeep. NO. MORE. SPORCLE.

@sporcle-admin, the title on the homepage leads one to think that this is about world-capitals. Could this be adjusted?
