| Is there any sight more majestic than 30 tonnes of whale launching itself 10 metres into the sky? Great pictures! |

| Urgent need of an animal tag please! Another great one LTH - thanks. |
 | LTH: | Aug 2nd, 2011 at 02:02 GMT | | 5 points |
| @sufradley, your wish is my command. |
 | imclala: | Aug 2nd, 2011 at 16:10 GMT | | 6 points |
| Since there is only one type of dolphin in your quiz, please accept "dolphin"? You take "seal" for Harbor Seal, even though there are multiple types of seals, and "porpoise" for Harbor Porpoise. |
 | LTH: | Aug 2nd, 2011 at 19:31 GMT | | 3 points |
| @imclala, I originally accepted dolphin by itself and I was making a few tweaks here and there and didn't realize I had unknowingly removed that answer. Thanks for saying something. |
 | HarryPotter14: | Aug 2nd, 2011 at 21:13 GMT | | 6 points |
| That leopard seal is going to give me nightmares. |
 | vic3233: | Aug 3rd, 2011 at 00:57 GMT | | 2 points |
| For some reason, "Beluga" is not being accepted unless you put a space after it. |
 | catcherj: | Aug 3rd, 2011 at 21:15 GMT | | -2 points |
| No freshwater mammals? I was hoping for a beaver or something. |
 | JM001: | Aug 4th, 2011 at 08:34 GMT | | 4 points |
| I didn't get Dugong - were all those years playing Pokemon for nothing? |
 | LTH: | Aug 4th, 2011 at 19:11 GMT | | 8 points |
| @catcherj, by definition, marine mammals dwell in the sea or depend on the sea for subsistence. |

| Wonderful! Oh, how I love a good animal quiz. |

| Dugong? Learn something new every day. And I've always wanted to know why a Narwhal isn't a Narwhale. |
 | Hejman: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 04:12 GMT | | 6 points |
| Is that the narwhal that shows up when the internet crashes and Sporcle goes down? (You know, Stubby?) I love me a good animal quiz! Great work, LTH. |

| this thing just makes me realize how lazy the pokemon people were in making names... |

| I've been lucky enough to have observed 12 varieties of cetacean in the wild. I've also seen quite a few other animals featured in this quiz. Nice to see this quiz published. |

| I didn't get the right whale. |

| Did anybody get either of the "mrweebl" songs stuck in their head? |
 | EssessNine97: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 05:24 GMT | | 8 points |
| @The_Road_Guy: The name apparently comes from ancient Icelandic ("náhvalr"). |
 | sexton42: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 05:34 GMT | | 17 points |
| Shoot! I picked the WRONG whale! |
 | markyb: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 05:51 GMT | | 6 points |
| I thought only sea lions had ear flaps and seals had ear holes. So imagine my surprise to see two animals with ear flaps, and only one is a sea lion. Where did I go wrong? |

| I tried "Dewgong" several times before I remembered it's spelled "dugong". Damn you Pokemon. |
 | RetroGirl: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 06:55 GMT | | 4 points |
| My elementary school study of whales paid off. Side note: Apparently Grey Seal isn't a thing. Just an Elton John song. |
 | xolkan: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 07:16 GMT | | -3 points |
| @worm0110, thats weird, I typed Dugong first. |
 | staarbux: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 09:21 GMT | | 7 points |
| Excellent. Although I admit I'm sad that 'gay shark' wasn't accepted for dolphin. ;) |
 | Sapphire_Hart: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 10:30 GMT | | 30 points |
| My only annoyance on this quiz was that harbour seal was got by just typing seal, while the others needed to be more specific, if one needs to be specific to species they all should be. |

| I'm surprised someone hasn't complained: "If you accept Whales you should accept Scotland and Northern Ireland too!" or have I just played too many Geography quizzes lately?! |
 | GlassMoon: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 12:04 GMT | | -2 points |
| I've never heard of a brown fur seal or an elephant seal, and I felt like those were weirdly specific, as opposed to all the others. |

| This is very 1800's but I tried cachalot before sperm whale... which is the state animal of CT even though I don't know how they live here. Long Island Sound is New York's sewer. |

| I was shocked a few years ago to learn that a "killer whale" is in fact a large member of the dolphin family. |
 | gene: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 13:40 GMT | | 19 points |
| I don't know if they ever helped my kids, but by using Flash Cards all those years ago sure helped me with IDing the Narwhal. I guess one might say those Flash Cards served a porpoise. n'yuk, n'yuk, n'yuk....... |

| Aah I typed Dewgong so Many times I hate you pokemon
By some wierd miracle i typed Manatee first
Also I Thought Manatee(Sea Cow)and Dugong were the same thing but i guess you learn something new every day
Finally arent Narwhals amazing coz i cant get the song out of my head now
Great Quiz Can you do more like this plz |
 | Meltha: | Aug 9th, 2011 at 14:10 GMT | | 4 points |
| I've heard of an elephant seal before, but I don't think I've ever seen a picture of one until now. That is one apt name. |
