	I refuse to acknowledge there were any books past Frank Herbert (and possibly the Encyclopedia).

	@kmzh: Oh come on. Sure, the new dune books can't compare to the brilliance of the originals, but they're still decent stories in their own right in a fascinating universe. Brian Herbert has stayed true to Frank Herbert's vision way better than George Lucas did to his own IP with the Star Wars Episodes I-III. (And with that, let the nerd war begin!)

	Great quiz. Great books (at least the original six). @DWolf. J.K. Rowling and Judy Blume's writings are more challenging and interesting than Kevin Herbert's. I patiently read through Hunters of Dune, but couldn't finish Sandworms because by that time, I just couldn't care about the characters anymore. The story had become too diluted by the younger's universe to be followable (ie Daniel and Marty changing from facedancers to Kevin Herbert's weak Butlerian Jihad tie-in), not to mention the fact that I couldn't get the theme from Muppet Babies out of my head whenever the gholas made an appearance.

	Take this a step further... really even for Frank Herbert's books it was like he put 90 percent of his creative genius into Dune, 7 percent into Dune Messiah, 2 percent into Children of Dune, and trace amounts into the other 3.

	The first three are worth reading. The first is obviously the best, but the next two do provide some sort of closure.

	I agree that the first 3 are the ones which matter, God Emperor just seemed to be jumping the shark. And I couldn't stomach anything after that.
