| I understand it would take a lot (well, some) more effort, but 'predominant position' doesn't matter at all, what's important is how many homers a player hit while playing a given position. This is the way MLB keeps its records. As for your resources, they're the same as mine, ie you have the internet, where such information is freely available via many sites. Would it take more effort? Some more, yes, but probably not too much - and there are probably ways to sort it in just this way at sites like baseball-reference. But just as a for instance, your 2nd base totals are way off. Biggio hit a lot of those at catcher and centerfield, and Soriano hit a ton of his while playing the outfield. They wouldn't be on the list. And none of the DHs, to the best of my knowledge, were career DHs. And so on. Banks made a position switch. So did others. Sosa played some CF I believe. Your idea is applauded but there needs to be more of an effort at accuracy for the quiz to be authoritative. |
