| A few important things: this does not exactly deal with franchises but rather individual teams. For instance, the Browns would be listed on here if they didn't have another team return a few years later even though the franchise lived on. Also, there has to be some sort of geographic change for them to be listed. Typically, a move of at least 30 miles so for this reason, the Angels, Astros/Colt 45s, Warriors are not listed. My goal is to look at cities that have lost teams more so than change in team names. I also started in 1951 because 1950 would have meant a lot of NBA teams that I doubt anybody would know. Enjoy! |
